Drought Notice
The state of North Carolina including Mecklenburg County and surrounding
areas has been dealing with a drought situation since the beginning of summer,
2007.
The year to date rain deficit in the Charlotte area is over 12 inches. A stage 3
drought restriction was enacted in August of 2007 and this has already
resulted in a 20% reduction of water usage in the Mecklenburg region. As a small
business owner that operates and lives in the community we want to assist in the
water conservation effort.
In addition to our normal environmental protocols and best management
practices (BMP's), Sparkle Wash by Cutting Edge has been proactive in utilizing
water conservation methods since the inception of the stage 3 drought. Working
in conjunction with Sparkle Wash International we have developed and voluntarily
initiated water conservation methods that have reduced our water usage by 50% on
average. The changes in our methods have reduced our efficiency and increased
the cost to our operation but we are doing this in an effort to be a good water
conservation citizen.
Sparkle Wash by Cutting Edge is operating with the understanding that water
must be conserved as much as possible while we preserve people’s property.
Pollutants left on the surface can do permanent damage to property or create
health hazards for the general public. We can remove the source of these
problems using our water conservation methods.
The only long-term solution is additional rainfall. In the meantime, we will
continue to communicate with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities to insure that we
are operating properly as the water restrictions evolve over the coming months.
Please call us at 704.393.7773 if you have any questions regarding this matter.
We appreciate your business and being your choice for asset protection and
property appeal.
